From 1 January 2023 to 4 March 2024, the running of time limits concerning temporary residence permits, permanent residence, residence of a long-term EU resident by voivodeship offices has been suspended. The effect of this solution is not to stop the proceedings. Applications submitted so far continue to be processed and new applications accepted.
The suspension of the running of deadlines was introduced in connection with the large additional burden on voivodeship offices in the context of the mass arrival of foreigners from Ukraine.
Pursuant to the changes, a voivode is not obliged to inform a party of failure to complete a case within the deadline, nor will he/she submit to the Head of the Office for Foreigners appeals against inaction or protraction of proceedings in the aforementioned cases by authorities of the first instance.
The introduced solution concerns all foreigners, regardless of their citizenship.
