MOS.2 and CUKR – key dates and changes for foreigners

The coming weeks will bring a significcant reform of immigration procedures in Poland – full digitisation and new procedures for foreigners.

▪️ 27 April 2026 – start of MOS.2

▪️ 4 May 2026 – start of CUKR

Applications submitted under the old rules (on paper) may only be submitted by 24 April. In accordance with the regulations, the application must be delivered by this date, not merely sent. Otherwise, it will not be considered.

Electronification of proceedings – what does this mean in practice?

➡ no paper applications

➡ communication with the immigration office through the system

➡ digital submission of documents and attachments

Electronic signature – an obligatory requirement

To submit an application, there must be provided:

➡ a qualified electronic signature or

➡ trusted profile (‘’profil zaufany’’)

You cannot amend your application

❗ Once the application is submitted, there is no option to edit it.

This means you must:

➡ check your details carefully

➡ include all the required supporting documents when you submit your application

CUKR – what you need to know:

➡ applications must be submitted online only

➡ a simplified procedure for those with UKR status

➡ transition from temporary protection to a temporary residence permit (up to 3 years)

Conclusion: Digitalisation in theory simplifies contacts with the authorities, but at the same time significantly increases the responsibility for ensuring the application is correct – particularly given that it cannot be amended once submitted.

If you’re planning to submit an application, make sure you’re prepared in advance (bank account, signature, documents). From the end of April, there will be no room for error.
