CHANGES IN FEES AND TERMS IN POLISH CITIZENSHIP CASES

On 1 August 2025, the Act of 25 June 2025 amending the Act on Repatriation and certain other acts will come into force. On this basis, the following fees will change:

  • The fee for submitting an application for Polish citizenship to the President of the Republic of Poland will be PLN 1,669 (currently no fee)
  • The fee for issuing a decision on recognition as a Polish citizen will be PLN 1,000 (currently PLN 219)
  • The fee for issuing a decision on the confirmation or loss of Polish citizenship will be PLN 277 (currently PLN 58).

The new rates apply to all the above-mentioned proceedings submitted to the Mazovian Voivodeship Office in Warsaw as of 1 August 2025. In cases commenced before 1 August, the current rates apply.

Change of terms. The changes introduced by the Act of 25 June 2025 also extend the terms for settling cases concerning recognition as a Polish citizen and confirmation of possession or loss of Polish citizenship. From 1 August, these terms will be 6 months (currently 1 month).
